Cleopatra is arguably one of the world’s most powerful women. She was hungry for power and was once in a relationship with two men who were highly respected in rome.
Many writers attribute her success to her beauty. It is suggested that she manipulated men with her beauty. However, till this day, there’s no global concession on how she looked.
There are two people who wrote on the beauty of Cleopatra: Roman historian Cassius Dio and Greek historian Plutarch.
As one would expect, they are not of the same view and this has since created two groups of people with different beliefs and imaginations towards Cleopatra’s beauty.
Cassius Dio describes Cleopatra as “a woman of surpassing beauty” who was “brilliant to look upon.” Plutarch on the other hand maintains that “her beauty… was in itself not altogether incomparable, nor such as to strike those who saw her.”www.heritagedaily.com/2015/08/was-cleopatra-beautiful-the-archaeological-evidence/92015
Coins and sculptures are the only sources we can rely on as far as her facial appearance is concerned and they don’t really depict the world’s most beautiful women most people suggest.
Perhaps she was beautiful in character more so than she was in appearance.
